Celem studiów Zarządzanie w ochronie zdrowia drugiego stopnia jest kształcenie profesjonalistów posiadających wysokie kompetencje niezbędne do zarządzania w systemie zdrowotnym, zarówno w sektorze publicznym, jak i prywatnym, będące odpowiedzią na współczesne wyzwania systemowe, w tym: ekonomiczne, regulacyjne, polityczne, etyczne, organizacyjne i społeczne. W skali kraju kierunek jest unikatowy ze względu na interdyscyplinarne podejście do kwestii rządzenia i zarządzania w sektorze ochrony zdrowia, bowiem studia prowadzone są przez Wydział Nauk o Zdrowiu UJ CM – Instytut Zdrowia Publicznego we współpracy z Wydziałem Zarządzania i Komunikacji Społecznej – Instytutem Spraw Publicznych, Instytutem Ekonomii, Finansów i Zarządzania oraz Instytutem Dziennikarstwa, Mediów i Komunikacji Społecznej. Koncepcja kształcenia na kierunku uwzględnia duże zapotrzebowanie rynku pracy, dodatkowo wzmocnione przez pandemię Covid 19, na profesjonalistów wyposażonych w specjalistyczną wiedzę i umiejętności rozwiązywania specyficznych problemów związanych z zarządzaniem w systemie ochrony zdrowia. Kompetencje te pozwalać będą na podejmowanie pracy zarówno w zróżnicowanych instytucjach ochrony zdrowia na poziomie systemowym (np. administracja/samorząd terytorialny), jak i jednostkach świadczących usługi zdrowotne (szpitale, przychodnie), a także wspomagających ten system (firmy komercyjne zajmujące się dostawami wyrobów medycznych czy oprogramowania). Absolwent kierunku Zarządzanie w ochronie zdrowia będzie także przygotowany do podjęcia pracy na stanowiskach naukowo-dydaktycznych w uczelniach wyższych na kierunkach związanych z ochroną zdrowia.

Absolwent studiów uzyskuje tytuł magistra.
