Studia o profilu ogólnoakademickim na kierunku Zarządzanie w ochronie zdrowia trwają sześć semestrów i prowadzone są przez dwa wydziały Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego: Wydział Nauk o Zdrowiu i Wydział Zarządzania i Komunikacji Społecznej. Interdyscyplinarny program studiów przygotowuje profesjonalistów umiejących stosować narzędzia zarządcze, ekonomiczne, regulacyjne i komunikacyjne do optymalizacji procesów zarządczych zachodzących w sektorze ochrony zdrowia, uwzględniając naczelne zadanie systemu ochrony zdrowia, jakim jest utrzymanie zdrowia społeczeństwa na najwyższym, możliwym poziomie, a w przypadku wystąpienia problemów – ratowanie zdrowia i życia ludzkiego. Absolwenci kierunku przygotowani są do pracy na wykonawczych i samodzielnych stanowiskach w komórkach administracyjnych podmiotów leczniczych, jednostek samorządu terytorialnego, instytucji na poziomie lokalnym i krajowym w sektorze ochrony zdrowia, instytucji administracji państwowej na szczeblu centralnym i lokalnym.
Absolwent studiów uzyskuje tytuł licencjata.
